Carissa Moser

Mrs. Carissa Moser,

First Grade Teacher

This will be my 22nd year teaching at Hillside School and my 24th year teaching. I have taught kindergarten, first grade, second grade, and reading in my teaching career. I have taught first grade the most out of all those levels and I love watching first graders grasp a concept we are working on in class. I have my Masters in Reading from Northeastern University in Chicago, Illinois and my Bachelors in Education from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana.

I am married to a very supportive and funny Mr. Moser for 23 years. We have two daughters: Hannah (a senior in high school) and Lydia (a freshman in high school). They are adventurous, kind, fun girls and I love spending time with them when I am not at Hillside School. I love traveling with my family, going on bike rides, listening to good music and attending concerts, getting dinner out with friends, being creative, shopping, watching movies, and just simply hanging out with my family. Family and friends are such a joy to me!

My favorite color is burgundy and I love organgutans. I like brownies, adore sunsets, and love Diet Coke! I collect all kinds of pens and a lot of children’s picture books. I have quite a collection! Our family has a senior dog and two kittens that we adopted during the pandemic.
