Emma Germann

Ms. Germann, 5th-8th Band and Music

My name is Emma Germann and I am the Band Director and 5th-8th grade Music Teacher at Hillside School!

I am excited to be entering my first year at Hillside School. I earned my Bachelor's in Music Education with a minor in Jazz Studies and a Classical Saxophone Performance Certificate from Elmhurst University. Go Bluejays! My main instrument is the saxophone and I frequently play with local professional concert bands, jazz bands, and orchestras. I am a Golden Apple Scholar and through this program, I have received extensive training in best practices in teaching.

At Hillside School, I am looking forward to working with my close colleague, Ms. B, to bring our students the best music education possible. I believe that music is both a process and product which teaches students self-expression, self-discovery, and skills that transfer into every area of life. I'm looking forward to collaborating with students, families, and staff to bring the best musical opportunities to our students.
