We will continue with our Heat Contingency Plan for Thursday, August 24 due to the continued excessive heat watch. Fortunately, Hillside School learning environments are air-conditioned.
Hillside School District 93 will consult the Child Care Weather Chart provided by the Illinois State Board of Education to assist in determining if it is safe for students to go outdoors for recess, P.E. class, or similar activities.
Based upon the Excessive Heat Warning will implement the following procedures:
- No Outdoor Recess
- No Outdoor PE
- Slower than usual dismissal procedures to ensure students are lining up inside the building for dismissal to avoid prolonged exposure to the heat.
