Hillside School participated in the second annual WSCAE Student Leadership conference on Friday, November 4 from 8:30 to 2:30. The workshop took place at Hodgkins Park District facility in Hodgkins. The event was hosted by Hillside School District 93 in collaboration with 14 other area school districts known as the West Suburban Consortium for Academic Excellence. Hillside School had eight students participate in the conference.
High school students from Oak Park and River Forest High School facilitated the student workshop. The Oak Park River Forest High School students are part of a Leadership program that involves intensive training.
Activities included group games that involved communication, collaboration, and problem-solving. The afternoon sessions will focus on problem-solving-based learning. The day they culminated in a session with Hillside students and Mrs. Johnson discussing an idea or project that will positively impact Hillside School.
