Dr. Suchinski, has decided to retire at the end of the 2024 - 2025 school year. We wish him the best and want to thank him for his dedication and hard work during his years of service to the School District and our Community. The Hillside 93 Board of Education has started the process of hiring a new superintendent.

The Board of Education has hired an executive search firm to assist them with this important task and process.  The Board of Education would like your input as we begin our search for a new Superintendent to lead our district. We will use the information we gather from focus groups and this questionnaire to help create a leadership profile for our next leader.

All responses are anonymous and confidential.

We request that each person respond only once to this survey, which has been designed to allow for only one response per device.

The new Superintendent should be a person who:

• Highly visible at school, district, and community events

• Skilled at fostering a collaborative environment that encourages open communication and shared decision-making among staff, parents, and community members.

• Demonstrates a deep understanding of the diverse needs of all students, with experience in Special Education programs and EL programs

• Demonstrates ability to deeply understand and align initiatives and resources to achieve long-term goals and drive continuous improvement.

• Demonstrates proven experience as a teacher and building-level/ district leader; understands curriculum, teaching, and learning and promotes instructional methods that are engaging and supportive of high academic achievement for all students

• Proven ability to develop and implement SEL programs that address students' emotional and mental well-being, promoting a positive school culture.

• Dedicated to honoring and continuing district traditions while also adjusting to the evolving educational needs and challenges.

• Demonstrated success in cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with existing community partners, stakeholders, and families to enhance student support systems.

• A forward-thinking leader who prioritizes inclusivity and equity in decision-making and policy development.

• Knowledge of school finance management, including budgeting, resource allocation, and financial forecasting to ensure fiscal responsibility and alignment with district goals.

• Experienced in identifying underlying issues affecting student performance and attendance, using data-driven approaches to develop targeted interventions

• Committed to continuous evaluation and improvement of safety policies, aligning with best practices and emerging safety standards.
